Lighting Up "Children of the Stars" Through Public Welfare Actions
July 08,2025

On July 5, 2025, the team from Shandong Near Chemical walked into [Qimeng Rehabilitation Special Education Center] as volunteers, launching a warm interaction with autistic children. This special group, known as "children of the stars," spent half a day filled with laughter and joy under the companionship of volunteers. 1

Statistics show that there are at least 78 million autistic individuals globally. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that approximately one in every 100 children is affected by autism. According to the 2023 disability census report released by the China Disabled Persons' Federation, the number of autistic individuals in China has exceeded 13 million, growing by nearly 200,000 people each year, making it the leading cause of mental disability. Children account for approximately 23% to 38% of this population.

These "children of the stars" may exhibit misunderstood behavioral patterns, yet they hold pure perceptions of the world; they may face communication barriers, but they still long to build emotional bridges through eye contact and hugs. When we patiently dispel the fog of misunderstanding, we realize that every "child of the stars" is a unique star fallen to earth. They require not only professional intervention and scientific care to pave their growth path but also social consensus to gather into a protective starlight, enabling them to gradually break through the barriers of loneliness and stretch their vital potential in a world where they are seen and accepted.

During the activity, colleagues completed handicrafts, played fun games, and actively performed singing and dancing interactions with the children to narrow the emotional distance. When the children looked at everyone with innocent eyes, responded with innocent smiles, and even offered hugs spontaneously, these unadorned moments of sincerity deeply touched every participant. "Their world is simple and pure," shared a colleague after the event. "Rather than saying we gave care, it's more like they healed us with their most genuine emotions." 234

Regarding this public welfare initiative, Adam, the company's CEO, emphasized: "We have never viewed public welfare as a propaganda tool or a means to gain reputation. Special groups like autistic children have an urgent need for social care, and fulfilling corporate social responsibility (CSR) is inherently our obligation." Shandong Near Chemical is committed to continuing its efforts in the field of social welfare. This visit to the special education school is a key implementation of its "Social Care Initiative." 5

"While the power of a single activity is limited, sustained attention can converge into a river," the company stated. It plans to integrate care for special groups into a regularized public welfare mechanism, continuously delivering warmth to communities in need through material donations, regular companionship, and other forms. Meanwhile, Near Chem calls on more social forces to join the public welfare cause. Even the faintest light can mirror the galaxy.

Shandong Near Chemical Co., Ltd., which has deepened its presence in the chemical international trade sector for decades, has always believed in the symbiotic relationship between commercial value and social value. This public welfare visit to the special education school not only demonstrates the enterprise's proactive commitment to social responsibility but also confirms with practical actions that when commercial power collides with humanistic care, it can light up a beam for society's vulnerable groups—a beam that drives society toward a warmer future.
